Pilar is designed for an industry where companies compete directly. The platform provides documentation infrastructure — not competitive insight.

Ownership & rights

You own all data generated in your projects (raw data, calculated data, and reports).
Pilar has no rights to commercial use of your data.
Data is not shared across customers.
Pilar does not use your data outside your own projects. Any exception requires explicit, separate agreement.
Pilar does not train models, build benchmarks, or improve other customers’ performance using your data.
Pilar does not derive or use competitive insights from your data.
Pilar employees do not have unrestricted access to customer data. Access is role-based, explicitly authorized, and logged.

Isolation & control

Data is isolated per organization.
Organization ID is enforced at the application layer and in all database queries to prevent cross-company access.
Only your organization can access your projects.
All access is logged (who accessed what, and when).
Export is available upon request.
