Data Ownership & Neutrality

Pilar is designed for an industry where companies compete directly. The platform provides documentation infrastructure — not competitive insight.

Ownership & rights

  • You own all data generated in your projects (raw data, calculated data, and reports).
  • Pilar has no rights to commercial use of your data.
  • Data is not shared across customers.
  • Pilar does not use your data outside your own projects. Any exception requires explicit, separate agreement.
  • Pilar does not train models, build benchmarks, or improve other customers’ performance using your data.
  • Pilar does not derive or use competitive insights from your data.
  • Pilar employees do not have unrestricted access to customer data. Access is role-based, explicitly authorized, and logged.

Isolation & control

  • Data is isolated per organization.
  • Organization ID is enforced at the application layer and in all database queries to prevent cross-company access.
  • Only your organization can access your projects.
  • All access is logged (who accessed what, and when).
  • Export is available upon request.

How your data is handled

This is the practical structure that makes neutrality credible. It’s not marketing; it’s how the platform is designed to work.

Every request is validated against authentication, role permissions, and organization identity. Organization ID is enforced at the application and database query level before any data is returned.

Data isolation

  • Data is isolated per organization and enforced at the application and database query level.

  • Project data remains scoped to your organization.

Access control & logging

  • Only authorized users in your organization can access your projects.

  • Access to customer data within Pilar is role-restricted, explicitly authorized, and logged.

  • Access logs are maintained and can be reviewed upon request as part of a controlled audit process.

  • Operational principle: Access is limited to service delivery.

Enforcement

These principles are reflected in a DPA and Terms of Service, available for review upon request.

Data lifecycle

  • Stored during active use for your projects.
  • Full export available upon request (structured format).
  • Deletion can be requested and is completed with written confirmation.

What Pilar does not do

  • No cross-customer benchmarking.
  • No competitive intelligence layer.
  • No training models, building benchmarks, or improving others using your data.

No lock-in. Ever.

If you leave Pilar, you take everything with you. Documentation platforms only work long-term when exit is straightforward.

Access enforcement

Every request is validated against authentication, role permissions, and organization identity. Organization ID is enforced at the application and database query level before any data is returned.

Export guarantee

  • Export your data upon request in a structured, machine-readable format (e.g., CSV/JSON) plus generated reports.

  • Export includes project data, calculated outputs, metadata, and relevant logs.

  • Export is provided in a structured, machine-readable format so your organization retains full access to project data.

Deletion guarantee

  • Upon termination (or on request), your data can be deleted from Pilar systems as part of a controlled process, with written confirmation.

  • You receive written confirmation when deletion has been completed.

  • Pilar is designed to reduce risk, not create dependency.

Built for documentation requirements

Pilar is infrastructure: evidence-based, research-rooted, and aligned with how compliance is moving. The goal is to make high-quality documentation standard across the industry.

Research foundation

  • Based on AAU research and engineering practice.

  • Designed to make documentation operational at scale.

  • Replicating this typically requires large datasets, calibration, and validation against physical testing.
  •

Standards alignment

  • Aligned with Eurocode principles (EN 1990 Annex D).

  • Supports upcoming industry documentation requirements.
